The best freshers events in Newcastle

The start of the new university term brings a whole host of events to get stuck into, whether you're heading out in Newcastle for the first time, or you're a seasoned veteran of the city's student nightlife.

With the official Newcastle University Freshers Week starting on Monday 16th September, here's a selection of the best events happening across the city in the second half of the month.

OOPS! MONDAYS: Season 7 Launch

Welcome to season 7 of one of the toon's greatest nights! This year, expect more energy, a new terrace layout, and a hell of a lot more fun. Expect the iconic OOPS terrace with the hanging space disco balls, the club room with brand new lighting and the best of RnB, the addition of an indie room, more energetic hits and club classics alongside the disco this year, themed nights and giveaways, tickets starting as low as £1, and much more.

KULT: Freshers Week Welcome

There are plenty of cryptic messages coming from KULT. Whether it's "The Talk of The Toon", "The return everyone is talking about…" or "Not just an indie night…", they're inviting you to Join The Kult at The Social Club on Thursday 19th September.

GROOVY DISCO TECH XXL: MICHAEL GRAY

After a freshers XXL last year featuring the legendary The Shapeshifters, GDT XXL is back with another disco legend... Michael Gray. Creator of one of the biggest disco tracks of all time 'The Weekend', Michael is still tearing it up at the best clubs in the world decades later and will bring his immaculate energy to NX on 21st September.

Culture Clash Newcastle

The mission of Culture Clash is to bring more colour and vibes across the UK. Join the party and pick up a fan, flag, other pop-up merch or a quick bite Bringing non-stop riddims, good energy and all the freshest anthems, all night! This is not an event to miss!

East End Dubs - extENDed

East End Dubs brings extENDed to NX Newcastle on 27th September for a huge 4-hour set! East End Dubs is recognised far and wide for his signature sound, which has seen him playing on the world's biggest stages including Space Miami, Amnesia Ibiza, Music On Amsterdam, Creamfields and Parklife.

HowayFest

HowayFest is a vibrant festival of culture based in Newcastle, offering a diverse array of events that span across the arts and music. This celebration brings together local talent and international acts to create an immersive cultural experience for all, which will include 8 individual gigs, featuring 25 bands across some of the best venues in the North East.
